Head coach Matt LaFleur, general manager Brian Gutekunst are betting big that a revamped offensive line and overhauled receiving corps will elevate quarterback Jordan Love and the Packers‘ offense to new heights this season.
After all, Green Bay is looking to break through past the NFC Wild Card for the first time in three seasons, and will be doing so with injury-prone Christian Watson and unproven second-year former first-round pick Matthew Golden atop the wide receiver depth chart, as stalwart pass-catching tight end Tucker Kraft shakes off the impacts of a torn ACL that ended his 2025 campaign.
Packers’ worst-case scenario for the offense in 2026 revealed

Over at Bleacher Report, veteran NFL reporter Kristopher Knox put together a list of every team’s worst-case scenarios on offense this season, including Golden not making a leap and a rebuilt offensive line struggling.
“Love is going to face some challenges this season due to some personnel movement,” Knox writes for B/R. “Green Bay parted with offensive linemen Elgton Jenkins and Rasheed Walker, along with receivers Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks.
“Standout lineman Zach Tom is also coming back from a partially torn patellar tendon. Tom, Jenkins, and Walker were starters when healthy in 2025, while Wicks was a potent deep threat, and Doubs was the team’s leading receiver. If Golden doesn’t develop into a true starting-caliber receiver and the reshuffled offensive line isn’t at least above average, Green Bay could take a step backward offensively.”
If Golden makes the leap, and his track speed translates to a prolific second season, the Packers’ offense is going to be in fine shape.
However, allowing leading receiver Romeo Doubs to walk via free agency following a stellar 2025 season and trading veteran Dontayvion Wicks, has served to turn up the pressure on Green Bay’s offense while betting big that Tucker Kraft will return to form immediately from his season-ending injury.
This season is shaping up to be a major gamble on Love’s consistency and LaFleur’s scheme overcoming turnover at key positions, and the Packers better be right.
