Indiana Women’s Golf Association, Indianapolis, IN (July 23) —
Maddie Dabagia dominated the 2025 IWGA Women’s State Amateur Championship held at Broadmoor Country Club over three days of intense competition, finishing at 9 under par to claim the title by six strokes.
Throughout the tournament, Dabagia was a model of consistency and power, carding 11 birdies and 2 eagles to rise to the top of the leaderboard early and never look back. She was the only player to shoot under par in all three rounds, showcasing her ability to maintain strong play across multiple days.
Dabagia’s victory also marks a rare milestone in Indiana golf history. She is only the second golfer, male or female, to complete what Indiana Golf is calling the Hoosier Slam — winning the Indiana Junior Championship, PGA Junior Championship, Open Championship, and now the Amateur Championship. The only other golfer to accomplish this feat is Julia Potter-Bobb.

In a post-tournament interview, Maddie reflected on her game and what led to her impressive win:
“Thank you. I definitely tried to take advantage of my length,” she said. “My wedges could have been a little better this week, but on the par fives, I was able to get to most of them in two shots, which really helped. On the short par fours where I had wedges in my hand, I think I was able to make the most of those opportunities.”
Asked what the win meant to her personally, Maddie responded:
“It’s great. Especially since I now get an exemption into the Women’s Amateur at Bandon Dunes in Oregon, it’s an amazing opportunity. This kind of feels like the capstone of my Indiana golf journey, and I’m just so grateful and lucky to be here.”
The 2025 IWGA Women’s State Amateur Championship at Broadmoor showcased some of the state’s finest talent, with Maddie Dabagia standing tall as the champion and an emerging star in Indiana golf.
