Former WWE multi-time champion and former UFC champion Ronda Rousey is getting back in the ring, but not for either of those promotions.
Earlier today, Boxing Scene reported that Rousey and her reps are in talks to return to combat sports but this time as a boxer.
The report shares that Rousey and World Champion Katie Taylor are in “active negotiations” to fight sometime in 2026 in Las Vegas. No other details were revealed other than the fight could possibly air on Netflix – which i the platform that previously aired a rematch between and Amanda Serrano.
Although Rousey has no professional boxing fights under her belt and made her fame through the armbar submission in UFC, the story notes that she was “schooled heavily” in boxing by her coach at the time, Edmond Tarverdyan and that her confidence in fighting from a stand-up position increased in her last UFC bouts.
To that end, Rousey hasn’t fought professionally in almost a decade, last having been knocked out in dramatic fashion in 2015 by Holly Holm and then again even worse by Amanda Nunes. However, footage emerged earlier this year that she was in training which fueled rumors that she may have her sights set on fighting again
Following her last UFC match, Rousey entered WWE for two separate runs with the second stint ending on rough terms where Rousey then went on to criticize a number of different aspects of the company.
