F2 Sprint Race | 2025 Abu Dhabi GP

Arvid Lindblad won the final F2 Sprint Race of the season at the 2025 Abu Dhabi GP. Joshua Durksen finished in second for AIX Racing, 0.9s behind the leader, with Nikola Tsolov earning his maiden F2 podium in third.

Lindblad lined up on Pole for Campos Racing, entering his final weekend before he graduates to Formula 1 with Racing Bulls. Joshua Durksen joined him on the front row for AIX Racing, with Victor Martins lining up in third.

Lights Out

It was a good start for the two frontrunners, with Lindblad covering off Durksen on the run to Turn 1.

However, a slow start for Martins saw him drop down to sixth, with Tsolov, Oliver Goethe and Dino Beganovic taking advantage.

Furthermore, it was also a disastrous start for Championship winner Leo Fornaroli who fell out of the top ten.

With DRS enabled, Durksen was closing in on the leader.

By lap four, the Paraguayan driver was just 0.4s behind Lindblad. However, the British driver was able to comfortably maintain the lead.

After starting in seventh, Beganovic was also closing in on Goethe in the fight for fourth.

Virtual Safety Car

Lap eight saw John Bennett pulling off the track, with smoke bellowing from the back of his car.

Therefore, a Virtual Safety Car was deployed as his car was swiftly recovered.

Green Light

As the Virtual Safety Car ended, Lindblad was able to sustain a lead of half a second from Durksen in second.

Crucially, the AIX Racing driver ran wide at Turn 12, dropping out of DRS range of the leader.

Elsewhere, Rafael Villagomez and Luke Browning battled for sixteenth, with the Hitech TGR driver still in contention for P2 in the Championship alongside Jak Crawford and Richard Verschoor.

Lindblad pulled further away, with his lead increasing to 2.2s. Additionally, Martins had Alex Dunne, Gabriele Mini and Crawford for company in the fight for sixth.

Ten Laps Remaining

On lap 14, Crawford out-braked Mini into Turn 5 to take eighth place. In an attempt to regain the place, the PREMA driver found himself airborne as he attacked the curb.

Beganovic tried the outside line at Turn 9 yet was forced to give up his passing attempt on Goethe for fourth. The Ferrari Academy driver was successful on lap 17.

Furthermore, Crawford cleared Dunne into Turn 5, claiming a crucial two points over Verschoor.

Meanwhile, the gap out front was back down to 1.6s, the closest Durksen had been since he went off track earlier on.

Despite carrying slight front wing damage, Stanek was able to pass Mini at Turn 5 for ninth. The PREMA driver claimed it back into Turn 9.

On lap 20, Crawford tagged his front win against Martins’ rear right at Turn 6, resulting in damage. However, the DAMS Lucas Oil driver was still able to successfully make the move to take sixth.

Virtual Safety Car

The Virtual Safety Car was deployed once again as part of Crawford’s front wing was recovered from the track.

Green Light

Back up to racing speed, Lindblad got the better restart, with the gap to Durksen in second increasing to 1.6s.

However, by lap 22, the Paraguayan driver was back in DRS range of the British driver, prepared for a last lap shootout.

Arvid Lindblad won the final F2 Sprint Race of the season at the 2025 Abu Dhabi GP. Joshua Durksen finished in second for AIX Racing, 0.9s behind the leader, with Nikola Tsolov earning his maiden F2 podium in third.
