“It’s time to quarry,” said someone, probably, in the BeamNG development team.
You can never guess what the team at BeamNG GmbH has up its sleeve, and the latest v0.38 update is no exception.
No, it’s not rally themed, cop chase focused or drifting – this time, the main BeamNG.drive additions are slow, lumbering, heavy machinery.
Two giant trucks
A brace of quarry workhorses has been added.
- Hirochi HT-55
- Hirochi WL-40
The HT-55 is a gigantic dumper truck, used in the real world primarily for mining use – some can carry up to 450 tons of rubble.
The WL-40, meanwhile, is a large wheel loader, with its bucket up front. Both feature functioning carrying devices, while rock pile and marble block props are also now available.
New quarry location
The Italian map now features a Marble Quarry area, replete with the white-washed cliff faces and gravel roads.
It’s an ideal match for the aforementioned HT-55 and WL-40 trucks, but also, we can’t wait to test out a rally car…
Alongside the new area, the total file size of maps is said to have been reduced by ‘about 33%’.
Further tweaks
A new Freeroam Session wizard, revised Gameplay Selector, an Audio Ribbon Editor and enhanced rally tools for modders are also part of this update.
