The Philadelphia Eagles started the 2025 season 8-2, but have since stumbled into a late-season collapse, dropping three straight games. The latest setback was a 22-19 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, a game marked by sloppy play and costly mistakes.
Philadelphia surrendered turnovers, missed a key field goal, and ultimately saw Jalen Hurts throw a game-ending interception from the Chargers’ 17-yard line in overtime. Hurts finished 21-of-40 for 240 yards with five total turnovers (four interceptions and a fumble), in one of the worst performances of his career as the Eagles’ offense continued to struggle.
Once considered among the favorites to repeat as Super Bowl champions, the Eagles now face heavy backlash from fans and analysts as their offense has sputtered and execution issues have piled up.

Amid discussions about a poorly-running offense and rumors of internal disconnect, franchise legend Jason Kelce weighed in with a message of accountability and leadership. Speaking on Sports Radio 94WIP, Kelce told the players to take responsibility and avoid excuses, emphasizing senior players must help elevate the group:
“When it’s not going well, it’s going to be really, really, overwhelming at times. I think that’s where you need great leadership,” said the Eagles’ former center on Thursday. “That’s where you need guys that have been through it before, especially in this city that understand that they’re this way because they care and it’s unacceptable what’s happening on the field.”
Kelce continued: “Try and leave the excuses out of it as much as you can, and get to the bare bones… What could I have done better on this play? What can I do better at my job? How can I communicate better?… It takes very self-aware players to play in this city. If you’re too mentally weak you ain’t gonna make it.”
Jason Kelce explains how to handle noise from the city of Philadelphia as a player while the Eagles are struggling:
