Xbox Arc Raiders players are stuck with “outdated game client” errors

If you’re attempting to play Arc Raiders right now on Xbox, and you want to party up with someone on PC or PS5, you’re going to have some trouble. A brand new update has been released for Arc Raiders, and sadly, Xbox is currently a bit behind, meaning that nobody on Xbox can party up with players on other platforms.

The “outdated game client” error can be fixed with an update, but only when one is available. At the time of writing, Xbox consoles don’t have a new update available, but PS5 and PC players are already using it, meaning that cross-platform play between these systems isn’t currently possible.

This is an issue that may crop up in the future, and sadly the only solution currently available is to wait for Embark to issue a patch for your system and make it available to download — though certification may delay this process, much to the disappointment of the fans and developers alike.

This hotfix not only broke cross-platform play for Xbox users, but it also introduced a litany of fresh animation errors for PS5 users, including the crouch animation being replaced with a T-pose.

It’s a bit silly, and frankly ridiculous, but Embark is aware of the issues and has already issued a second patch of the day (October 31, 2025) to rollback some of these issues. Fingers crossed this also has Xbox consoles working fine with crossplay again.

We don’t know how long these patch notes will remain relevant, but these are the updates and fixes the latest patch is supposed to provide.
