Huddersfield fans make feelings known as Lee Grant’s side go winless in last five league games

Huddersfield fans make their feelings known as Lee Grant’s side go winless in their last five league games with a draw against Wigan.

The hosts had gone into the break 1-0 up, thanks to Murray Wallace’s header just after the half hour mark, but Raphael Borges Rodrigues levelled it up on 51 minutes.

The Terriers have now picked up just 3 points out of the last 15 available. Throughout the game, a number of chants were sung, with their side now 10 points behind the league leaders going into the 3pm kick offs.

Leon Wobschall reports there was derogatory chanting about Grant’s football style from those in the Cowshed, along with ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ and ‘Sacked in the Morning’.

Reece Brown (Ex-Huddersfield Town midfielder on BBC Radio Manchester): “There are some good players out there and you can see the potential of what Wigan can do, especially in that second half performance I thought they were absolutely fantastic.

“It is a shame that Wigan couldn’t go out there and get all three points in that second half, and maybe just give a little bit more of a push.

“It seemed like in the last 10-15 minutes Ryan Lowe said lets just try and see the game out and settle for a point.”

Huddersfield Town Manager Lee Grant commented:

“We’re frustrated. It’s a game that we have, and I had really earmarked, go and attacked. Having seen the game play out, it plays out like we think it will. So, there is a really frustration that we aren’t able to turn that one point into three today.

“We lost energy. Their goal really took the wind out of the sails from the group, and you could see there was a dip and a nervousness about some of our play, post their goal. The goal itself, we know we have to be better in those moments.

“There has to be a readiness from the group right now to be at their level, regardless of how comfortable they feel in a game, or how well we started in a game. Their has to be a readiness to defend big moments. Right now, we have seen over the course of the last few weeks, we have not had that often enough.”

This is what Twitter users are saying after Huddersfield fans make feelings known as Lee Grant’s side go winless in their last five league games…

@TerrierNigel:
The town faithful were chanting
Lee Grant your football is shit
Sacked in the morning
You don’t know what you’re doing
@KevinNagleMLS do the right thing

@awaydaytown: We’re in desperate need of a winner, what should I do? Take off the biggest 2 goal threats. I think that will work. Welcome to the mind of Lee Grant.

@MRXCII: Please act, @KevinNagleMLS. Do not let this fester any longer. He’s had ample opportunity — far more than he’s warranted or earned. The appointment has been a failure of catastrophic proportions. Grant’s position is untenable. He has to go, and he has to go now. #htafc

@ahlexplainlater: Result aside, taking off May & Castledine when chasing a winner should be a sackable offence in itself. Absolutely disgraceful excuse for ‘management’ #htafc

@KingKas_: We’ve got such a good squad being wasted on a man who hasn’t got a scooby doo how to play football. Same thing time and time again

@Stevros1988: The fans are staying away in their droves @KevinNagleMLS, if you want the number of stay aways to keep on growing then you keep Grant. If you want to tempt some back and give us even a fleeting chance of a top 6 finish, he goes today.

@FishButty: That has to be Grants last game. Zero signs of improvement, if anything we’re going backwards. He got it all wrong yet again, what an awful way to start the weekend.

@JonesLee1231977: not good enough . Lack of tactics – again poor performances from Harness – Charles and Ledson. Messing around passing at the back. Very sad what’s happened to the team I love. Make the change Kev #UTT #htafc

@Mirf_Chris: Get rid of Grant now Kev. You gave him everything, individual players highly capable of playing their part in a team to walk this league, but he hasn’t a clue how to make a team of them.

@andymortby: What are you waiting for @KevinNagleMLS admit you’ve messed up again
