Matt Hardy just brought back “Broken” Matt during the TNA TV tapings—and it’s already changing the direction of TNA’s tag team scene.
During the April 15, 2026 TNA IMPACT! tapings in Syracuse, New York (set to air April 23), Jeff Hardy defeated Vincent—but the bigger moment came after when Matt Hardy returned in his iconic Broken persona.
That appearance directly led to the finish, as Broken Matt distracted Vincent and opened the door for Jeff to pick up the win. More importantly, it officially kicked off a feud between The Hardys and The Righteous.
The return of Broken Matt alone shows a major shift—but what happens next makes things even more interesting. From the same set of tapings, another development set for the April 30, 2026 episode points toward something deeper going on with Hardy’s character.
Dutch picked up a win over Matt Hardy—but not the “Broken” version—before the situation escalated after the match. Hardy was put through a table twice, showing a more grounded and vulnerable version of his character during the bout. After the attack, Dutch spray-painted a message that may hint at where this story is heading: “Sacrifice!”
That detail changes the tone completely. Instead of just bringing back Broken Matt for nostalgia, TNA now appears to be playing with the idea of two distinct versions of Hardy—one chaotic and unpredictable, the other more traditional and exposed.

Do you like the idea of TNA leaning into multiple versions of Matt Hardy’s character, or should they stick with one clear direction? Let us know your thoughts.
