AEW Collision Results
AEW World Trios Championships: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, & Kyle O’Reilly) (c) vs. Don Callis Family (Lance Archer, Hechicero, & Andrade El Idolo)
- The Conglomeration comes out on top here after a slightly back-and-forth battle. The match came to an end after Cassidy hits a big Orange Punch on Archer, which allows the rest of the group to go after him. O’Reilly and Strong then hit a big move on Archer, and throw Cassidy onto him for the pin.
Winners – The Conglomeration
Grade: B
Not a bad match, but nothing too special either. The trios championships do result in some fun matches, though, so they’ll always be welcome.
In footage that plays from after this week’s episode of Dynamite, Jon Moxley and the Death Riders have kidnapped Will Ospreay. The group has him in a chair, and Moxley explains that Ospreay can become what he truly wants if he just trains himself and his mind properly. Moxley then said he knows Ospreay is just focused on breaking his neck so he tells him to get it over with. He then hands Ospreay a chair and lies on the ground for him. Ospreay grabs it, but looks conflicted, then blocks the camera man from next. On commentary, Moxley says we’ll know what Ospreay’s answer was soon enough.
Death Riders & The Dogs vs. Young Bucks & The Rascalz
- The Death Riders and The Dogs come away with a win here. the match ends with The Dogs hitting a flying suplex for the win after Zachary Wentz hits David Finlay with a big move.
Winners – Death Riders & The Dogs
Grade: C
Overall, a decent match, but not a whole lot happened here. Some cool high-flying moves, though.
Mina Shirakawa and Harley Cameron are talking with Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander. Harley says she’s sad Statlander chose Shida over her for training, and Mina demanded an apology from Shida for things she said about Harley. Shida then says it to Harley, saying she isn’t on their level and that Shida will prove it by doing something she never could, and winning the tag titles with Statlander. Everyone starts arguing in different languages then before Statlander heads out for her match.
Kris Statlander vs. Becca
- Becca actually looked ready to come away with the shock win here, but Statlander flipped the momentum. She hit the Saturday Night Fever for the win, then storms past Shida when she tries to celebrate.
Winner – Kris Statlander
Grade: C+
Classic squash match, but it was nice to see Stat and Shida continue building up their friendship before the match.
Rush vs. Adam Priest
- Rush and Priest battled for a minute or two before Rush quickly won. He won the match with the Bull’s Horn, and then pinned Priest to come away on top.
Winner – Rush
After the match, Rush reminded Priest that when you mess with the bulls, you get the horns.
Grade: C
Another absolutely so-so match. Not a ton to complain about, but not a ton of “wow” factor stuff here, either.
Thekla & Skye Blue vs. Alex Windsor and Persephone
- Thekla and Blue are dominant here, even though Windsor and Persephone do get some hits in here and there. In the end, though, Thekla and Blue walk out on top, with Julia Hart running down into the ring late to spray some black mist at Persephone. Thekla distracts the referee, as Blue hits a Code Blue for the win.
Winner – Thekla & Skye Blue
Grade: B-
A fun match that had a fun ending, but not a whole lot else going on, which has been a bit of a throughline tonight.
AEW National Championship: Jungle Jack Perry (c) vs. El Clon
- Perry and Clon battle it out here in grand fashion, with Clon looking like he’d come out on top for a majority of the match, especially when Clon hit a massive knee strike on Perry. In the end, though, Perry flipped things by putting his knee up when Clon went for a springboard moonsault. This let Perry hit a German suplex, which he followed up with a running knee strike for the win.
Winner – Jungle Jack Perry
Grade: B+
A good match, with a lot of back-and-forth action between the two. Perry seems to still be over, so he’ll keep on defending.
Backstage, Anthony Bowens approaches Hook and Samoa Joe and demands an answer as to joining The Opps. Joe is back now, Hook said, so there are no more vacancies. However, after some playful ribbing, the group says yes, there’s no more vacancies because Bowens is officially in.
Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate vs. The Demand
- In the final match of the night, The Demand comes out with a big win. The crowd was into it, and clearly were hoping that Jericho and The Hurt Syndicate would come out on top, but it didn’t end up happening. The match came to an end after Jericho tried to get Ricochet in a Walls of Jericho, but Toa Liona helped break it up. Ricochet then took advantage of some chaos happening outside of the ring to hit a low blow on Jericho, then hit the Ricosault to pin him.
Winners – The Demand
Grade: B+
A great match to end the night, even though the crowd clearly wanted a different outcome. This should be building up to Jericho getting his comeuppance at some point, though, so we’ll have to wait and see.
AEW Collision Review
Grade: C
All in all, this was kind of a slow episode of the show. Mostly just tons of buildup and not a lot of great or memorable matches. We’ve been on a good stretch of Collision episodes, so it’s alright that we took a dip here.
