AEW World Trios Championship Eliminator: The Conglomeration vs. Shane Taylor Promotions
- The night opens up with an AEW Trios Title Eliminator Match, and the champions won’t have to worry about any match next week. The reigning champs won tonight, ensuring they wouldn’t have to put their belts on the line just yet. The match ended with Cassidy hitting Shane Taylor (who had joined his group), who had tried to get involved. This then let Mark Briscoe hit a big dive, while Kyle O’Reilly set up Shawn Dean to be hit with a Froggy Bow and a Jay Driller.
Winners – The Conglomeration
Grade – B
This was a solid match, all things considered. The Conglomeration remains a fun group, and it’d be nice to see them thrown into some bigger matches going forward.
TBS Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Red Velvet
- Willow Nightingale continues her reign with the TBS Championship. Although Red Velvet put up a good match, this was going Nightingale’s way the whole time. Toward the end of the match, Velvet hit Nightingale with a DDT, but Willow got up and then absolutely dominated. She threw down Velvet then began throwing strikes down on her. The two took things to the ropes, and Velvet almost scored a shock win after throwing Willow down to the ground and covering her quick. Nightingale capitalized, though, and then hit a Babe with the Powerbomb to win.
Winner – Willow Nightingale
Grade – B+
This was a surprisingly awesome match, and both stars gave it their all. Nightingale’s reign has been fun so far, and she continues to put out some good matches in the process.
Backstage, Tommaso Ciampa shocks fans by attacking Mark Briscoe, and things make their way out to the ramp. Briscoe and Ciampa continued brawling, throwing one another into the barricades before Briscoe eventually threw Ciampa into the ring with a chair. Ciampa slid out and was quickly met with a Briscoe dive. Briscoe then brings Ciampa back into the ring and tries to hit a Jay Driller on the chair, but Ciampa counters it, and low blows Briscoe.
Ciampa then began attacking Briscoe’s shoulder with a chair, and set up Mark on the top rope to set up a nasty looking spot with the chairs. The rest of The Conglomeration came out and forced Ciampa to leave, though, and we set up a No DQ match for Wednesday between Briscoe and Ciampa.
The Opps vs. Lethal Twist
- The Opps handle business here, coming out on top after a fairly back-and-forth match. The match ends with Lethal trying to get a figure four lock in on Samoa Joe. Joe wouldn’t go for that, though, and put him in the Coquina Clutch. Bowens then got some kicks and punches in on Johnson until he finally tapped.
Winners – The Opps
After the match, Bowens then got on the mic. He said he deserves a standing ovation, and even Joe clapped for him. He said that Joe has shown him that if you don’t like how the table is set up, you gotta flip it over. Joe then called out Will Ospreay, and said that it’s nice Will views him as a dream match, but when they finally meet in the ring, it won’t go well for Ospreay.
Grade – B
This was another solid match, and The Opps are always a fun match. Would like to see them get to do a little more, though, especially with Joe still so over amongst fans.
AEW Women’s Tag Team Championships Title Eliminator: Divine Dominion vs. Allie Katch & Kaia McKenna
- While Katch and McKenna were hoping for a title shot, it wasn’t meant to be. Divine Dominion dominated this one, pretty much ending the match in almost a minute. The match came to an end after they dropped Katch down and then pinned her after a dual move.
Winners – Divine Dominion
Grade – C-
This was a rough one. I understand a squash match, but this felt more like an absolute nothingburger in terms of anything.
