It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means!
We open backstage, where MJF and the Don Callis Family are standing by. We hear from MJF first, who has us look at his World Title before addressing his enemies/challengers Eddie Kingston style. He respects Kevin Knight’s fire, brushes past Andrade El Idolo’s recent challenges, and mocks Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega before honing in on Mark Briscoe. He says that the rest of the names he listed are top acts, but everyone just feels bad for Mark because his brother died.
None of his prayers to become champion will come to pass after Forbidden Door. He tells Callis to announce the members of DCMJF: Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and…Andrade! (Should be worth noting that Trent Beretta starts to walk up before the last name is announced, lol) El Idolo is NOT happy about this, saying MJF thinks Andrade will join him…well, how you know?
Callis works to defuse the situation as everyone walks off aside from a slightly dejected Beretta before we head to ringside, where commentary runs down the lineup for the show.
Also at ringside are the Premier Athletes, who came to the ring looking for a match…and it sees Tony Khan has one for them, with Kenny Omega making his entrance first. We find out this is a singles contest, with Tony Nese set to take on the Best Bout Machine as Omega gets to the ring to get this match underway!
Kenny Omega vs. Tony Nese
Omega gets distracted early on by Mark Sterling, allowing Nese to take control…but not for long, as Kenny turns it around with a snap dragon suplex followed by a V-Trigger. Sterling tries to distract him again but get knocked to the floor, before Omega lands a One-Winged Angel on Nese for the win.
Winner via pinfall: Kenny Omega
Omega gets a microphone after the match, but can’t get a word in before TMDK make their way out. Zach Sabre Jr. is flanked by Mikey Nichols and Bad Dude Tito as they head to the ring, with Omega leaving the ring rather than get into a confrontation with his opponent for Forbidden Door. The Young Bucks and Jack Perry come out to even the numbers out, as Sabre grabs the microphone…only to toss it toward Omega.
Kenny grabs the mic and speaks, saying he doesn’t know what TMDK stands for and neither do they. He addresses the match at Forbidden Door, saying he knows it would be nice for Sabre to get a notch in the win column against one of the best and stating Sabre’s got his friends with him, and Kenny has his as well.
Let’s keep it 1v1 at the ‘pape’ and for now, he’ll bid you adieu. TMDK don’t have a catchphrase we know, but to them he says goodnight (mwah), and goodbye (bang)!
Omega’s music hits as we take a look back at Collision Summer Blockbuster, where The Dogs took out the Young Bucks for the win. We’ll hear from them later tonight.
We also still have the Women’s Owen Hart Tournament Semifinal coming up, along with a face-to-face between Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland ahead of their Men’s Owen Hart Tournament final at Forbidden Door. Speaking of the PPV, our main event tonight is a 12-Man Tag between MJF’s and Mark Briscoe’s squads ahead of the steel cage match at Forbidden Door. With that, Dynamite rolls on!
Death Riders make their way out first, coming through the crowd to get ready for our opening match. Out next is Brodido, and we get this match underway!
Death Riders (Jon Moxley & Daniel Garcia) vs. Brodido (Brody King & Bandido)
Bandido and Garcia start the match off with an exchange of offense that Bandido ends up winning, taking Garcia to the mat before Daniel turns it around to send the luchador down as well. This ends in a standoff before Garcia mocks Bandido’s pose…and cuts the ROH World Champion off from doing the same, before sending him down with a shoulder tackle.
Bandido fights back for a dropkick on Garcia, bringing him to the corner for a tag to Brody. They double-team with an assisted suplex sending Bandido crashing onto Daniel…but he pops back up to stop the pair from doing the Macarena. Garcia shows off his own moves but takes chops from the former tag champs. Mox reaches out for a tag and gets it, standing across from King as he mouths off at him. They go nose-to-nose before trading forearm strikes, leading to an exchange of chops.
