AEW Set to Honor Dennis Condrey During Collision in Huntsville

All Elite Wrestling is officially planning to honor wrestling legend Dennis Condrey during its upcoming return to Huntsville.

On May 30, AEW heads back to Huntsville, Alabama for a new episode of AEW Collision at Propst Arena. While the event will feature current stars like Ricochet and FTR, AEW President Tony Khan confirmed the company also plans to pay tribute to Condrey following his passing earlier this year. Speaking to WAAY-31 Sports, Khan made it clear how important Condrey’s legacy remains to him personally and to AEW.

“Absolutely. The memory of Dennis Condry is very important to us. I had met Dennis Condry, and I’m a huge fan of Dennis Condry.”

Condrey, who passed away at age 74 in March 2026, was one of the founding members of the legendary The Midnight Express alongside Bobby Eaton and manager Jim Cornette.

Widely regarded as one of the most influential tag team wrestlers of all time, Condrey helped revolutionize tag team storytelling during wrestling’s territorial era. His work across promotions like National Wrestling Alliance, Jim Crockett Promotions, Mid-South Wrestling, and Georgia Championship Wrestling became a blueprint for generations of teams that followed.

Following his death, Dax Harwood of FTR launched a GoFundMe campaign to help Condrey’s family with funeral expenses, calling him not only one of wrestling’s greatest tag team performers but also an incredible person outside the ring.

Now AEW appears ready to publicly celebrate Condrey’s impact in front of a live crowd during Collision in Huntsville — the same city where he passed away earlier this year. The May 30 show will mark AEW’s fifth event in Huntsville since 2020.

Do you think The Midnight Express deserves even more recognition from modern wrestling companies for helping shape tag team wrestling as fans know it today? Leave your thoughts and memories below.
