AJ Francis Calls Out Mike Santana For TNA World Title Match At Slammiversary

AJ Francis wants the big spot at TNA Slammiversary, and he’s calling out Mike Santana to make it happen.

Santana is currently TNA World Champion, but his challenger for Slammiversary has not been confirmed yet. Francis made it clear during a new interview with Jim Varsallone that he believes he should be the one standing across from Santana in the main event.

Francis pointed to their previous singles match, saying it was so good that it was nominated for Match of the Year despite not even happening on pay-per-view.

“Me versus Mike Santana at Slammiversary for the world title would probably be one of the greatest matches in the history of TNA.”

Francis said Santana went from their match to becoming world champion, while he has continued putting on strong matches of his own. In his mind, giving them 25 minutes on the biggest stage would create something fans would not forget.

“I genuinely think if you gave me and Mike Santana 25 minutes for the world title in the main event of Slammiversary, you would walk away from that thinking this is one of the best matches I’ve ever seen in my life and one of the greatest matches of all time.”

Then Francis took the trash talk up a notch, questioning whether Santana would actually agree to defend the title against him.

“Now, whether Mike Santana actually has the balls to give me a title shot is a whole different thing.”

Francis also claimed other champions have avoided giving him opportunities until he forced the issue, naming Leon Slater and Nic Nemeth as examples.

For now, Santana’s Slammiversary opponent is still up in the air, but AJ Francis is making his pitch loud and clear. He wants the TNA World Title match, he wants the main event, and he believes he and Santana could steal the whole show.
