AL West Prospects: MLB Farm System Watch

Welcome back to The Game Haus’s MLB Farm System Watch series. Today, we will look at who is standing out among the AL West prospects.

Farm System Watch will look at players who are top-30 prospects for their given team and have yet to make their major league debut.

Athletics

Next Up: Wei-En Lin (LHP) [MLB #89]

Current Level: AAA Las Vegas

2026 Stat Line: 53IP/3.23ERA/1.00WHIP

Lin was signed out of Taiwan in 2024 and has shown impressive command with all of his offerings through every level of the minor leagues. His pitch mix is diverse, with a solid fastball, slider, curve, change, and split. He has risen quickly through the A’s farm, and his continued success has made his prospect stock rise considerably.

Top Prospect: Leo De Vries (SS) [MLB #2]

Current Level: AA Midland

2026 Stat Line: 241AB/.282AVG/.807OPS

De Vries was the primary return in the Mason Miller trade with the Padres last year. He slots in currently as the number two prospect in all of baseball. He is a switch-hitter with massive offensive upside from both sides of the plate. De Vries is a very athletic player with speed and range, and he is already up to AA at only age 19.

Houston Astros

Next Up: Ethan Pecko (RHP)

Current Level: AAA Sugar Land

2026 Stat Line: 46.2IP/3.47ERA/1.24WHIP

Pecko has been a good pitcher when healthy. He has missed parts of the last few seasons due to arm injuries, but won the Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award in 2024. His low arm-angle makes for a deceptive delivery, though his secondary pitches have been inconsistent at best.

Top Prospect: Kevin Alvarez (OF) [MLB #75]

Current Level: A Fayetteville

2026 Stat Line: 203AB/.256AVG/.727OPS

Alvarez projects as a fantastic hitter with his ability to hit for both contact and power. Scouts have described his swing as advanced for his age, and the 18-year-old has a ton of raw power to go along with it. He won the hitting and outfield defense competitions at the Astros’ minor league preseason camp earlier this year.

Los Angeles Angels

Next Up: Nelson Rada (OF)

Current Level: AAA Salt Lake

2026 Stat Line: 241AB/.270AVG/.720OPS

Rada isn’t the biggest guy, but at the young age of 20, he’s already in AAA. He is a great contact and on-base hitter at the plate, and he has worked hard to bring his strikeout rate down and his walk rate up. Rada is a speedy player, which gives him plus attributes in both his outfield defense and on the basepaths, where he stole over 50 bases last season.

Top Prospect: Tyler Bremner (RHP) [MLB #47]

Current Level: A+ Tri-City

2026 Stat Line: 28IP/2.57ERA/1.21WHIP

Bremner was the #2 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. He impressed the Angels’ front office with his consistently good three-pitch mix, which features a fastball, slider, and an impressive changeup. His stuff produces a lot of swing-and-miss. Bremner is still building up to being a full-time starter.

Seattle Mariners

Next Up: Brock Rodden (2B/3B)

Current Level: AAA Tacoma

2026 Stat Line: 217AB/.276AVG/.824OPS

Rodden is another utilityman prospect with good contact but inconsistent power. He has the speed and athleticism to play almost anywhere on the field and be a threat running the bases. Scouts are very encouraged by his mentality and leadership.

Top Prospect: Kade Anderson (LHP) [MLB #6]

Current Level: AA Arkansas

2026 Stat Line: 61.2IP/1.02ERA/0.65WHIP

Anderson was drafted third overall by Seattle in 2025 after being arguably the best pitcher in college baseball at Louisiana State. He has great carry on his fastball, which gives it extra perceived velocity. The Mariners are excited by his frame, delivery, and command.

Texas Rangers

Next Up: Cameron Cauley

Current Level: AAA Round Rock

2026 Stat Line: 270AB/.267AVG/.778OPS

Cauley is a speedy and versatile player who uses those traits to be a threat to steal bases and play good defense. He has played multiple positions in the field and graded out well in each. His hitting leaves something to be desired, as he is an overly aggressive hitter who lacks a bit of power due to his small frame.

Top Prospect: Sebastian Walcott (SS/3B) [MLB #9]

Current Level: AA Frisco

2026 Stat Line: N/A

Walcott suffered an elbow injury last year that cost him the first half of his 2026 season. He was about as highly-touted a prospect as could be coming out of the Bahamas in 2023. His bat speed grades out incredibly high, which gives him great power and home-run upside.
