Alaric Jackson Arrested On Suspicion Of Domestic Battery

The Los Angeles Rams have Super Bowl expectations in 2026, but one of their key pieces could have just jeopardized that.

According to Dennis Broad of NBC Los Angeles, starting left tackle was arrested on Monday night in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic battery:

LA Ram Alaric Jackson was arrested for felony domestic battery Monday night at his San Fernando Valley home, LAPD sources tell NBC4.

The 6-foot-7, 338-pound offensive lineman was arrested at around 11 p.m., after police were called to his home. When police arrived, they learned that Jackson and a woman had gotten into a verbal argument.

Sources tell NBC4 that Jackson thought the woman was recording him with her phone and allegedly tried to take the phone out of her hand.

Investigators said the woman had scratch marks on her arms.

Jackson was then arrested for felony domestic battery. His bail is $50,000.

The Rams then released a statement on Jackson’s arrest:

“We are aware of the incident regarding Alaric Jackson, and we take these matters very seriously.  Due to this being an ongoing legal situation, we cannot comment further at this time.”

It remains to be seen what will come of this, but this is not the first time Jackson has dealt with off-the-field issues. He was suspended for two games in 2024 for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy. While the reason for the suspension was never disclosed, it may have been another domestic incident.

With Jackson now potentially being a multiple-time offender, the suspension from the NFL could be even more significant than the two games he sat out in 2024, and that’s not even to mention what kind of trouble he could be in with the authorities after getting arrested.

All that to say, this is not an ideal situation for Jackson and the Rams. He has been exceptional protecting Matthew Stafford’s blindside in recent years, so much so that he received a three-year, $56.3 million extension last offseason.

If Jackson is suspended or forced to miss time, then the Rams would have an obvious hole at left tackle. They could turn to veteran David Quessenberry or rookie Keegan Trost, but they also might need to look outside of the organization if Jackson will be out for a significant period.

Myles Garrett fueled by motivation to win Super Bowl

The Rams’ big offseason addition was Myles Garrett, who hopes to take them over the top in 2026. Garrett didn’t get a chance to compete for Super Bowls with the Cleveland Browns so naturally is looking forward to this opportunity with the Rams.

“Since the very beginning, it’s always been about winning,” Garrett said. “It just breaks down to the time I have left in this league. What does it look like for me to be a winner now? And to an opportunity to do that here, that was an opportunity that was just too difficult to pass up.”
