Alex Pereira Hints Josh Hokit Could Be Cut From UFC After June 14

Alex Pereira has been in Josh Hokit’s crosshairs ever since the UFC Freedom 250 press conferences began.

Hokit has been playing the heel and taking subtle shots at “Poatan,” but the Brazilian has largely chosen not to respond or react to the former’s antics.

Alex Pereira is keeping distractions at bay as he looks to attain three-division glory. The former UFC two-division champion will take on Ciryl Gane this weekend in the co-main event of UFC Freedom 250. If Pereira gets past Gane, he will become the interim heavyweight champion and also the first fighter in the promotion to hold belts in three different weight classes.

Meanwhile, Hokit, who has been taking constant unprovoked shots at Pereira, is set to face Derrick Lewis this weekend.

Alex Pereira believes Josh Hokit crossed the line with his taunts and comments, including remarks about Pereira’s mother. On media day, “Poatan” suggested that Hokit’s future in the UFC could be in jeopardy because of his actions. The 38-year-old added that he’s been hearing rumors that Hokit may be cut from the UFC after the White House event. He said:

“I’ve heard some things. I don’t know if he’s even going to be a part of this organization going forward. It may not even be worth talking about him because I don’t think he’s gonna be here. There’s a huge audience that watches the UFC. There are children, families, and a lot of the things he says and does are just very disrespectful.”

Josh Hokit, however, has much bigger plans. He intends to put on a dominant performance against “The Black Beast” and then pursue a fight with “Poatan.”
Hokit was quick to respond to Alex Pereira’s recent remarks, which suggested the former would be released from the UFC soon. The 28-year-old posted on X letting the Brazilian and fans know that he’s signed an 8-fight deal and is coming for Pereira.

“He might actually be a simpleton… I just signed an 8 fight deal… so You can run but you can’t hide😉”
