KANSAS CITY, Kan. (April 19, 2026) — Anthony Alfredo showcased front-running speed during Saturday’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Kansas Speedway before a mid-race tire issue cut short a promising performance.
After qualifying was canceled due to weather, Alfredo started 31st in the No. 96 Dude Wipes Chevrolet for Viking Motorsports. From the drop of the green flag, he methodically worked his way through the field, showing strong pace early in the race.
By the end of Stage One, Alfredo had climbed all the way to fifth, earning valuable stage points and establishing himself as a contender inside the top five.
Continuing that momentum into Stage Two, Alfredo briefly moved to the front and led laps, highlighting the speed of the No. 96 Chevrolet. However, while running near the front, a punctured tire sent the car into the wall, ending what had been one of the team’s most competitive runs of the season.
“Top 5 in stage one and a few laps led prior to cutting a tire and hitting the wall hard in stage two,” said Alfredo. “Another fast car with no results to show for it. We will keep pushing.”
Despite the early exit, Alfredo’s performance at Kansas reinforces the progress being made by the team, with speed capable of competing at the front of the field.
Alfredo currently sits 18th in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series point standings, 83 points below the playoff cut line, as the team looks ahead to a critical stretch of races.
Next up, Alfredo heads to Talladega Superspeedway on April 25th, where superspeedway racing presents another opportunity to capitalize on speed and gain valuable points.
