Ludwig Kaiser’s legal situation has taken another step forward, and the latest update centers on the alleged victim now having legal counsel formally attached to the case.
Court records show that a Notice of Appearance was filed on June 11, entering attorney Darrin Chambers as counsel for the alleged victim. That means Chambers is now officially listed in the proceedings as Kaiser’s misdemeanor battery case continues through the Florida court system.
Chambers works for NeJame Law in Orlando, Florida, where he is a trial attorney focused on civil litigation and personal injury. His firm describes him as someone with experience defending insurance companies and handling jury trials as a Public Defender.
“Darrin brings a unique and powerful perspective to the courtroom, with nearly six years of experience defending insurance companies, combined with extensive jury trial experience as a Public Defender. His background gives him a deep understanding of both sides of the legal system — insight that helps strengthen advocacy for our clients.”
NeJame Law also points to Chambers’ background as a U.S. Navy veteran and Barry University School of Law Valedictorian, while stressing his trial-focused approach.
“A proud U.S. Navy veteran and Valedictorian of Barry University School of Law, Darrin is recognized for his discipline, preparation, and commitment to taking cases to trial when it matters most.”
This new filing comes after another recent development in the case. Ringside News obtained a June 1 court filing confirming that the State of Florida gave Kaiser’s defense attorney, Thomas Sommerville, access to digital evidence connected to the misdemeanor battery case. Prosecutors sent Sommerville an electronic link to the evidence, with access available for 90 days.
“The State emailed the defendant a link that grants access to tom@sommervillelaw.com items of digital evidence on 06/01/2026. The link in the email will expire within 90 days.”
The same filing also noted that some of the material could include geolocation information that may not be visible after the videos are downloaded. That detail could matter as both sides review the evidence: “Please note that some videos may contain geolocating information that may not be visible in the downloaded videos.”
Kaiser, whose real name is Marcel Barthel, is facing a misdemeanor battery charge tied to an alleged incident at his Orlando apartment complex earlier this year. He previously entered a not guilty plea and remains free on bond while the case continues.
As previously reported, Kaiser is scheduled to return to court on July 16 for a pre-trial conference. Court records also list a possible trial period from August 10 through August 28 if the case is not resolved before then. The legal proceedings have not affected Kaiser’s WWE status so far. He remains active on AAA programming and is still expected to continue his scheduled appearances while the case plays out.
For now, the case is moving piece by piece. The defense has access to digital evidence, prosecutors have flagged possible location data inside some videos, and the alleged victim now has Darrin Chambers officially entered as counsel. With the July 16 pre-trial conference coming up, the next question is whether this gets resolved before trial or keeps moving toward an August courtroom showdown.
