TNA’s latest round of cuts just added another name, and Aiden Prince is now confirming he got the call.
Prince took to Facebook and revealed that he was let go from TNA after spending the last several years working with the company. He admitted the news hit hard because the job had been such a big part of his life.
“Yesterday, i got the call that i was let go from TNA.”
Prince did not try to pretend it was no big deal. He said he was disappointed, then thanked the people he worked with during his run. He also closed his message with a Rocky quote about taking hits and continuing to move forward.
“Id be lying if i said i wasn’t bummed, my work has been so much of my life for the last 4/5 years. Thank you everyone I had the pleasure of working with.”
“It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” Prince’s exit comes after Anthem confirmed a workforce reduction in TNA. The company said the cuts were made to streamline operations and sharpen strategy and profitability.
“TNA Wrestling announced a workforce reduction, designed to streamline operations and sharpen strategic focus and profitability.”
That has made the timing of these exits even more interesting, because it was noted that at least one TNA source claimed the company is profitable under Anthem, though it was also stated there is no real way to verify that without seeing the details of TNA’s TV deal.
TNA’s recent departures have already included Tommy Dreamer and Tessa Blanchard, with Anthem wishing “Tessa, Tommy and others” well. Prince now appears to be one of those additional names caught in the company’s latest round of changes. So while TNA may be saying this is about streamlining and profitability, people are still losing jobs. Aiden Prince just confirmed he was one of them, and his message made it clear the call still stung.
