Anthony Bowens Addresses Possibility of Doing His Own Andrade-Style Ringside Routine

Anthony Bowens has seen what Andrade El Idolo is doing with women at ringside in AEW, and he isn’t totally ruling out putting his own spin on it one day.

While speaking to Adrian Hernandez, Bowens was asked whether he could ever see himself doing something similar to Andrade’s presentation, but with attractive men at ringside instead. Bowens admitted the thought has crossed his mind, and others have even suggested it to him.

“I won’t lie and say that I haven’t thought about that. Some people have said I should probably do that at some point.”

Bowens made it clear that the idea probably doesn’t fit what he is doing with The Opps right now, but he didn’t completely shut it down either. He said it could be fun, but his current focus is violence first.

“But I’ve got to choose violence first before I start getting all freaky. I’m not sure it fits The Opps vibe right now—but never say never, because that’s absolutely hilarious and fun.”

Bowens also said he enjoys playful character elements like that because they can bring more personality to a presentation, even if it is not the right move for him at this exact moment.

“I like fun things like that—it adds more color to it. But yeah… I’ve got to choose violence first before I start getting all freaky.”

The comments come as Andrade’s own ringside interactions have become a recurring part of AEW programming. On the May 20 edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade left the ring during his match and took selfies with two women at ringside, with both kissing him on the cheek. They were later identified as indie wrestlers Vile and Selena Hekate.

That followed prior moments involving Rebel Kel on AEW Collision and Kingsley at AEW Dynasty, making Andrade’s ringside distractions a clear part of his current presentation. Bowens may not be ready to copy the concept right now, but he clearly sees the entertainment value in it. For now, though, The Opps come first.
