Anthony Joshua opponent VOWS to ruin Tyson Fury fight

Anthony Joshua’s comeback opponent, Kristian Prenga has vowed to ruin his plans to face Tyson Fury.

Joshua’s return to the ring on July 25 in Riyadh against Prenga was announced moments after Turki Alalshikh revealed that ‘AJ’ and Fury had signed to fight each other.

The Albanian will be the 36-year-old’s first bout since his sixth round knockout of Jake Paul in December and Prenga, who has 20 wins all by knockout, insists he’s made a big error and has promised to rip up the script in just under three months time.

“Anthony Joshua is a great fighter, but he made a terrible miscalculation in picking me as his opponent,” the 35-year-old said.

“This is the kind of fight that changes everything in my life and his.

“I know they have big plans ahead after this fight.

“I know they are overlooking me. I’m happy about that.

“I will derail their plans and shock the world this July in Saudi Arabia.”

‘AJ’ suffered minor injuries in a fatal car crash which took the lives of two of his close friends, 10 days after his victory over Paul.

The two-time heavyweight world champion has returned to training camp in Spain alongside former foe Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury ended his latest retirement with a unanimous decision win over Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier this month and called out his long-time rival, who was watching on from ringside.

‘The Gypsy King’ said afterwards that he would consider retiring again if he was unable to secure a showdown with ‘AJ’, although his manager Spencer Brown revealed he could fight again before facing Joshua.

“We’re ready to go,” Brown said on Instagram.

“Tyson was out of the ring for two years, just jumped back in.

“We probably want another fight before the AJ fight.

“A proper warm-up fight and then we’re all ready to go.

“We’ve signed.

“We’re ready to rock and roll.”

Alalshikh confirmed the bout in a post on X on Monday, which read: “To my friends in Great Britain  – it’s happening. It’s signed.”

Joshua’s bout with Prenga will be broadcast on DAZN, while his showdown with Fury is set to land on Netflix, which aired Fury’s win over Makhmudov.
