It was a big weekend for racing in the UK and Monterey, California, as the UK Nationals and Sea Otter Classic kicked off the 2026 bike racing season.
AON Racing came out swinging in the UK with a triple win in Elite Men, Women, and Junior Men categories. This is a great start to the season for AON Racing, who are packing up to travel to the first World Cup race in South Korea next weekend. Be sure to tune in and cheer them on!
Across the pond and then some, Nik Nestoroff was putting on his own clinic of speed and style at the Sea Otter Classic Dual Slalom. On an old-school flat cornered grass track, Nik laid down clean lap after clean lap to secure the win in a very competitive field.
AON RACING KICKS OFF THE 2026 SEASON
The season kicked off on multiple fronts for AON Racing, with riders competing in both the UK National Downhill Series and the Slovenian Enduro Series—marking a strong and well-rounded start to the year.
Rhyd-y-felin hosted the opening round of the UK National Downhill Series and served as a key pre-season hit-out ahead of the World Cup in South Korea in two weeks’ time. After a busy off-season of testing, it was the first real opportunity to put everything into practice under race conditions.
The weather kept things interesting all weekend, with a mix of rain and occasional sunshine, leaving the track wet, technical, and constantly evolving.
The team delivered a series of strong, consistent downhill runs:
•Reece – 1st
•Henry – 3rd
•Hattie – 1st
•Stan – 1st (Junior)
It almost can’t get better than that!
Meanwhile, over in the Slovenian Enduro Series, Vid took on a stacked field and came away with an impressive 3rd place, adding to a successful opening weekend for the team. The race was biggest ever for the Slovenian series, with strong international competition.
Altogether, it’s a strong start across both downhill and enduro disciplines, and a valuable step in preparation for the races ahead.

NIK NESTOROFF WINS SEA OTTER DUAL SLALOM 2026
Nik Nestoroff topped the Dual Slalom at the Sea Otter Classic.
Nik Nestoroff showed up to the 2026 Sea Otter Classic Dual Slalom ready to get after it, and it paid off.
After clocking the fastest qualifying time, he carried that speed straight into race day. The course was a classic grass track with loose dirt, but Nestoroff kept things smooth and consistent, putting down clean runs while the rounds got tighter and the pressure ramped up.
In his final race Nik was matched up next to Finn Mcdermott, who had been running fast all day. Nik kept his runs precise and mistake free to lock in the win.
He did it all wearing the 6D ATB-3, staying protected while pushing hard on one of the most historic dual slaloms of the year.
Although the track had some doubters, it turned into one of the best Sea Otter Dual Slaloms of all time. We can’t wait for next year.
