USTA Florida is excited to bring back its Juneteenth Tennis Event Grants for 2026. Through the AMPLIFY initiative, which elevates and celebrates Black voices in tennis throughout the state, USTA Florida will award ten one-time reimbursement grants of $200 to support community tennis events tied to the Juneteenth holiday. Applications open May 18 and remain open until June 19.
The grants provide local providers with resources to host engaging community events that honor the significance of Juneteenth while welcoming new players to the sport. To qualify, events must take place during the month of June 2026, draw a minimum of 15 participants, and be organized by a Safe Play-approved provider. Each event should also demonstrate a genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion and incorporate a Juneteenth educational component.
Potential event partnerships could include collaborations with NJTLs, 100 Black Men, Jack and Jill, Boys and Girls Clubs, Black Greek Life organizations, and local Chambers of Commerce. Providers are encouraged to get creative with their celebrations, whether that means featuring live music, food trucks, guest speakers, Black artists and vendors, or interactive displays that highlight the history and meaning of Juneteenth.
All grant recipients must complete a post-event Accountability Report summarizing the event’s outcomes and community impact.
This initiative bridges grassroots tennis growth with meaningful community connection, all while honoring a pivotal chapter in American history. It is a great opportunity for providers to champion equity, build relationships with local residents, and deliver a memorable tennis experience.
