Arjun Tendulkar, the son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, emerged as one of the standout buys at the T20 Mumbai League 2026 auction, with Arcs Andheri roping him in for Rs 10 lakh following a fierce bidding war. The fourth-season player auction, conducted by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), witnessed intense bidding activity as franchises aggressively built their squads with a mix of proven performers and emerging talent.
All-rounder Akash Parkar was among the most valued acquisitions, going to SoBo Mumbai Falcons for Rs 12 lakh. Wicketkeeper-batsman Prasad Pawar (Rs 11.50 lakh) and batsman Musheer Khan (Rs 11 lakh) also emerged among the top buys, with both secured by ARCS Andheri.
Earlier, the league confirmed a power-packed list of Icon Players who will lead their respective franchises. The roster features Indian internationals and Mumbai stalwarts, including Suryakumar Yadav (Triumph Knights Mumbai North East), Shreyas Iyer (SoBo Mumbai Falcons), Ajinkya Rahane (North Mumbai Panthers), Shivam Dube (Arcs Andheri), Yashasvi Jaiswal (Bandra Blasters), Shardul Thakur (Eagle Thane Strikers), Sarfaraz Khan (Aakash Tigers), and Tushar Deshpande (MSC Maratha Royals).
At the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League auction, teenager Ira Jadhav emerged as the top buy, fetching Rs 10 lakh from Aakash Tigers, as the MCA marked the start of a new phase for women’s cricket in the city.
Ira, who grabbed attention after becoming the first Indian to score a triple century in U-19 cricket last year, was the standout pick of the auction, highlighting the league’s focus on providing a platform to emerging talent.
Ira expressed her excitement, saying: “I am really grateful to MCA and Aakash Tigers for having so much faith in me and trust in me. I am really happy, and I hope I make the best of this opportunity.
Ajinkya Naik, the MCA president, said: “The inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s League auction marks a significant milestone in our vision to strengthen the women’s cricketing ecosystem. Seeing a young talent like Ira Jadhav emerge as one of the standout picks today reflects the depth of promise in our grassroots structure and the opportunities this league is set to create. We are confident that this platform will play a pivotal role in identifying, nurturing and elevating the next generation of cricketers while building on Mumbai’s rich cricketing legacy.”
He added: “The T20 Mumbai League continues to grow as one of the most competitive domestic T20 platforms in the country. The intensity we witnessed at the auction reflects both the depth of talent in Mumbai and the confidence franchises have in this ecosystem.”
Rajdip Gupta, chairman, League Governing Council, said: “The auction has once again highlighted the strength of Mumbai’s cricketing pipeline.”
Meanwhile, Naik made it clear that playing in the T20 Mumbai League would be mandatory to be considered for the Mumbai team’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy selection. Of course, if a player has a valid reason, that would be considered. But players who are available should play.
