Arsenal will be desperately hoping that Crystal Palace can do them a huge favour by avoiding defeat against Manchester City on Wednesday evening.
The Gunners currently sit five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League table after a controversial win against West Ham United on Sunday, but the Citizens could cut that advantage to just two points if they defeat Palace at The Etihad.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta knows that wins in their final two matches will secure his side the top flight title, but the Spaniard will also undoubtedly be hoping that Palace can pull off a shock on Wednesday.
Ahead of that game, though, it is emerging that the north London side are hopeful of agreeing a huge deal to sign a Real Madrid superstar.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal are hopeful of signing Real Madrid attacker Arda Guler for a fee of around £77 million.
The report claims that the Premier League leaders are plotting an audacious move to sign the Turk, who has been in scintillating form for Real this term.

Guler joined Real Madrid from Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce back in 2023 and has since played 111 times for his current side, scoring 18 goals and providing 25 assists.
The attacking midfielder – who can also play on the wing – made his 50th appearance of the season last month, but has since been absent due to a muscle injury.
It is claimed that those in charge of Arsenal’s recruitment have identified the 21-year-old as a player that could improve Arteta’s attack hugely.
Guler is under contract in the Spanish capital until the end of the 2028/29 season, but the report suggests that the Gunners will attempt to agree a deal with their Spanish counterparts during this summer’s transfer window.
