Arvell Reese going No. 2 to the Jets is becoming more possible by the minute.
The Ohio State edge rusher is now -270 at FanDuel Sportsbook to be the second player selected in Thursday night’s NFL Draft.
As recently as Wednesday evening, Reese was locked in a two-horse race with Texas Tech defensive end David Bailey to be the second player taken behind Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who is all but assured to go No. 1 to the Raiders.
Reese, who had 6.5 sacks for the Buckeyes last season, has been a consensus top-five prospect throughout the draft process, but the Jets had repeatedly been connected to Bailey, who is also expected to get his name called early on Thursday.
For weeks, the pair had flip-flopped as the favorite to go second overall.
Bailey is still +200 to be the second pick, suggesting the Jets aren’t quite 100 percent settled on which player they’ll take. He is also +105 to go third overall.
The Cardinals hold the No. 3 pick, but have been widely rumored to be looking to trade down in the draft.
There’s also the possibility of the Jets moving back in the draft as well, which The Post’s Brian Costello has previously predicted.
The Jets also own a second first-round pick at No. 16, and it appears likely they will go with a wide receiver, although oddsmakers are split on which pass-catcher it will be.
Betting on the NFL?
In his last comments before the draft festivities earlier this week, Jets general manager Darren Mougey didn’t give away much about which way he was leaning.
“[I] feel good about this draft class,” Mougey said. “With the edge group, I think there’s different flavors, different styles that do things in different ways. But it is a pretty good group.”
