Ash By Elegance is not trashing WWE, but she is making one thing clear — she does not see TNA as some little backup plan.
While speaking on That Sweet Pop, Ash gave WWE its credit. She said the company gave her a huge platform, a massive reach, and taught her a lot. But she also admitted she never felt like WWE let her show everything she could do.
“WWE gave me an amazing platform, an amazing reach. It just feels like I wasn’t given my full potential. They taught me everything I knew, so hats off to WWE.”
Then things got a little ironic. Ash said when she first got to TNA, she never imagined she would end up back in a WWE ring. But months later, that is exactly what happened when she competed for the TNA Knockouts Title on NXT.
“I find it so odd though because as soon as I got to TNA Wrestling, if you would have asked me, ‘Hey, would you ever go back to WWE or NXT?’ I would be like, ‘There’s no way that I will ever go back there.’ And months into my career, they said, ‘Hey, look, you’re going to be fighting for the TNA title back in a WWE ring.’ I was like, ‘Me, of all people?’”
For Ash, that moment felt like walking back into the place that released her and showing them what they missed. She said TNA gave her the creative freedom she always wanted, while also letting her help younger women grow in her faction and in the locker room.
“It’s like I always say—it’s like the analogy of your ex-boyfriend wanting you back, right? So I went from a company that I was released from, and they were like, ‘Oh my God, wow, you can do that stuff.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, if I was only given a chance.’”
Then Ash went all in on TNA’s current momentum. She said fans used to treat WWE like the final destination, but in her eyes, TNA is now right there with them right now.
“And you know, everyone used to say WWE was the end-all, be-all, but TNA is right there—like neck and neck. It’s really truly amazing that we have a TV deal. So many more eyes are on TNA. We’re live every single Thursday on AMC Network.”
Bottom line, Ash By Elegance respects what WWE did for her, but she clearly feels TNA is where she finally gets to show the full package. And from where she’s sitting, TNA is no longer just trying to catch up — it is standing right next to WWE.
