The May 11 episode of WWE RAW was an important show, as it featured the aftermath of Backlash. Many people have been talking about Asuka’s semi-retirement. This week on RAW, they approached that subject head-on.
Asuka showed up in a backstage segment this week on RAW. She had a moment with IYO Sky, where they spoke primarily in Japanese. Then, Asuka made it clear that she was passing the torch.
The Empress of Tomorrow said that she was so happy to have IYO Sky beat her at Backlash. She said that she was waiting for someone to take her place. After saying how proud she is of IYO, they hugged.
IYO Sky said goodbye, and then Asuka said that she would see her later. After that, IYO Sky watched as Asuka walked off. The camera let fans watch Asuka leave through the door, as she wheeled her suitcase behind her.
Later on, Michael Cole addressed Asuka’s current status. He said that her current status is “up in the air.” Only time will tell if she returns, and when.
We will have to see what is next for Asuka. At this point, it seems that she will enjoy her semi-retirement, and she is bidding WWE farewell for now.
