They chased down a target of 155 runs in only 9.4 overs during a T20I against Scotland on Wednesday, with Travis Head scoring the highest run in such period of time. The Australians scored 113/1 in the Powerplay which is the highest amount that any team has ever achieved in T20I. Head said after his team’s victory: “It’s been great last couple of years, really enjoying the culture and several of us who’ve been around for some time with also many new ones coming in with their own personal energy.”

In Wednesday’s T20 international match between Australia and Scotland in Edinburgh, Travis Head scored an astounding 80 runs off just 25 balls as the Australians chased down 154 runs in under ten overs. During the first six overs Australia were 113/1 who in turn set a T20 international record for first power play. The tourists initially lost one wicket without scoring when Jake Fraser-McGurk was out for a duck on the third ball of the innings.
But Head took on Scotland’s bowling attack along with his captain Mitchell Marsh. Marsh hit 30 runs in one over bowled by Jack Jarvis while Head made fifty only after 17 balls had been bowled to him. By then both had already been claimed by Mark Watt in the seventh over.
As such wicketkeeper Josh Inglis continued scoring rapidly he contributed an undefeated 27 off 19 balls which earned victory by seven wickets with 62 balls remaining.
Once upon a time, George Munsey was the highest scorer for Scotland, making 28 runs. Sean Abbott emerged as the best bowler in Australia, taking three wickets for 39 runs.
The score of Scotland was 154 runs for losing nine wickets in 20 overs (George Munsey scored 28; Sean Abbott’s bowling figures were 3-39) against Australia who managed to score at 156 runs in 9.4 overs (Travis Head scored 80 runs and Mitchell Marsh got 39; Mark Watt took 2-13).
