Avani Prashanth matched her best finish on the Ladies European Tour with a tied fifth place at the Jabra Ladies Open De France in Evian-les-Bains on Saturday.

The Bangalore teenager closed with a 2 under par 69 to follow cards of 72 and 68 to total 4 under 209 at the Evian Resort behind runaway winner Helen Briem of Germany.

Diksha Dagar (67-72-71) held on well to also finish in the top 10, sharing ninth place on 3 under 210 and climb back into the top 20 on the LET’s Order of Merit.

Avani matched her previous best LET placing, a tie for fifth at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium last year. She has one more top 10 result, at the Team PIF London Championship also in 2025.

At the top, Briem, 20, brooked no stopping to win her second LET title, by a thumping seven strokes at Evian on Saturday with cards of 69-65 and 67 and a 12 under 201 tournament total.

Indian Open defending champion Shannon Tan of Singapore, Wales’ Lydia Hall and Sara Byrne shared second place on 5 under 208.

In company

Avani had Frenchwomen Lois Lau and amateur Alice Kong, besides Norway’s Dorthea Forbrigd for company in fifth. Diksha shared ninth place with six others.

Briem led by three heading into the final round and parred the first six holes before her first gain on the seventh.

Three more birdies followed in the next four holes to seal victory by the widest margin of the 2026 LET season.

“It’s been a long time. I came close a couple of times and I didn’t make it, but it’s a great venue to get my second win. It’s great over here, and it was a great weekend,” Briem told the LET website.

“I actually did not really know the standings, so I was always trying to push and make birdies and giving myself opportunities.

Easy going

“Then I birdied 11, 12, then 14 and it was easy from there on. I had a couple opportunities in the last four holes, but I’m really happy.”

The German’s first LET title came at the La Sella Open in 2024 with her father on the bag. Saturday’s result also ensured Briem’s berth at the 2026 Amundi Evian Championship.

“It’s great,” she added. “Playing majors is always a special experience, and obviously, it was on my mind that this is at stake over here, but I also knew that there are other possibilities or opportunities to qualify for Evian.

“It was on my mind, but I knew it wasn’t mandatory, so that helped a lot.”
