AEW may be dealing with growing online speculation about multiple contracts at once, but a new report suggests people backstage were just as confused by the latest Jack Perry rumors as fans were.
According to Fightful Select, people in AEW were asked about rumors that Perry’s contract is coming up soon, but those within the company had not heard that until the claim started spreading online.
“We asked about the rumors of Jack Perry’s contract coming up, but people in AEW had not heard that until it emerged online. We’ve heard nothing additional on that.”
This comes while Perry’s real-life girlfriend, Anna Jay, has been dealing with her own contract speculation online. Jay recently went live on Twitch to directly address the growing rumors surrounding her AEW future, making it clear that most of the stories spreading online were false.
“It’s not a big deal, but just a lot of stuff going on online that you guys have been seeing. A lot of it is not true.”
Jay explained that the rumors may have originated from somebody she used to work with who is no longer part of her team. She also clarified that only one part of the speculation is actually accurate.
“The source was someone I used to work with and he no longer is working for me as of a few months ago.”
With Perry’s name now being pulled into the conversation, it’s clear there is no confirmed indication that his AEW deal is close to expiring. At least for now, people in AEW had not heard anything about it before the rumor surfaced.
