WWE Hall of Famer and pro wrestling legend Mick Foley made his AEW debut last night during the Double or Nothing Buy In pre-show, where he co-hosted alongside Renee Paquette. AEW President Tony Khan was recently asked about the possibility of Foley wrestling in the company and expressed his enthusiasm for that idea.
In the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed a fan’s question regarding Foley’s potential in-ring action in AEW. Referencing discussions with Jon Alba from Sports Illustrated’s The Takedown, Sapp noted that Alba is convinced that Foley wrestling in AEW is a real possibility. Sapp also speculated that Foley could be involved in matches like Blood & Guts or Anarchy in the Arena, which could help disguise any limitations he may have.
However, Sapp emphasized that Khan would only want this to happen if it can be done safely. Notably, one of Foley’s former WCW and TNA colleagues, fellow WWE Hall of Famer Sting, has successfully returned to the ring during his AEW tenure, participating in multiple tag team matches instead of singles bouts.
