As previously reported, there has been considerable speculation lately regarding CM Punk’s status with WWE. It has been noted that Punk is expected to return to television with a new storyline soon.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, several sources within WWE have indicated that Punk is anticipated to make his return to WWE TV as early as July. The report also mentioned that Punk is expected to play a significant role leading up to this year’s WWE SummerSlam premium live event (PLE).
One source told the website that signs indicate Punk will return on or by Monday, July 6th. This episode of Monday Night RAW will take place in Punk’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois, at the Allstate Arena. Although WWE has not officially confirmed this date for Punk’s return, there is a strong belief that it is imminent.
Additionally, the report noted that none of the company’s sources expressed concerns regarding recent rumors or speculation about Punk having issues with WWE or TKO management. It was also stated that there had been no discussions about any problems between the two parties. However, if there are any concerns, they appear to be kept exceptionally quiet.
Punk last appeared for the company on the post-WrestleMania 42 edition of WWE RAW, where he was confronted by the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. During that segment, Rhodes told Punk to stay ready because you never know when a title opportunity might fall out of the sky.
