Becky Lynch would love to have another child, but she’s being very real about how complicated that decision is while she’s still an active WWE star.
While speaking with Stephanie McMahon on the What’s Your Story? podcast, Becky opened up about the pressure women in wrestling face when it comes to family planning. She admitted her daughter Roux has asked for a sibling, but Becky also has to think about her own career timeline and how much longer she wants to wrestle.
“Well, no, the eternal battle, like it’s the eternal battle because just so unfair being a woman in this business. It really is so unfair and the process. I just want one to show up on my doorstep. But yeah, like Roux keeps asking for a sibling.”
Becky said she would love another baby, but the timing is what makes everything difficult. For her, it comes down to biology, wrestling, and having to make a major life decision while still performing at the highest level.
“I would love one, but I go like how much, I don’t know, how much longer do I have wrestling? How much longer? It’s… I get mad about it, you know. I get mad that I have to make this decision on my time. Biology.”
Becky also talked about how magical motherhood has been for her, saying there is nothing like seeing the world through a child’s eyes. At the same time, she admitted she still wonders how life would work with two children instead of one.
“Oh, that’s, you know, when you’ve got these healthy children, right? They’re just so great and they’re just magic, man. Everything through their eyes, right? You know, there’s just nothing, there’s just nothing that compares to it. I love it so much and it’s like, you know, how do we balance two versus one? Maybe I’ll have another one. I don’t know.”
Becky also brought up Seth Rollins said he has been nothing but supportive. The problem, as she joked, is that his support only makes the decision even more frustrating because he understands that her career is affected far more than his: “It is all on you. Because Colby, unfortunately, is the best. He’s the best. He’s so supportive. Tell me! Tell me what to do with your support!”
The former Women’s Intercontinental Champion then explained Seth Rollins’ position, saying he knows the choice has to be hers because his career and day-to-day life would not change the same way.
“But he’s like, ‘It’s your decision. My career stays the same. My life doesn’t have to change that much. So it is up to you. I can’t…’ Damn you supportive, understanding husband. So frustrating. Yes, with your handsome face.”
Becky’s comments show just how personal and complicated the decision really is. She clearly loves being a mom and hasn’t ruled out another child, but she’s also honest about the unfair timing pressure that comes with being a woman in WWE.
