Big Bill may quietly be approaching the end of his AEW run — or at least that’s the belief some people inside wrestling had earlier this year.
According to Fightful Select, there was internal belief back in April that Big Bill’s AEW contract was set to expire around the end of May or beginning of June. The report also noted that, as of now, there still hasn’t been confirmation that Bill signed a new deal with the company.
Interestingly, Big Bill has not appeared on either AEW or ROH television since the contract talk started making rounds backstage.
Bill originally joined AEW in 2022 when he debuted as an opponent for Wardlow during Wardlow’s TNT Championship run. Since then, the former Big Cass became part of several major acts in the company, including winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships alongside Ricky Saints before later joining Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree faction.
More recently, Bill had been teaming with Bryan Keith before quietly disappearing from programming altogether. At this point, there’s still no word on whether Big Bill is staying with AEW, leaving, or simply waiting on a new agreement behind the scenes.
Do you think AEW should make re-signing Big Bill a priority, or has the company already cooled off on him too much? Leave your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
