PROGRESS Wrestling co-owner Big Damo has defended booking Joe Coffey despite the controversial claims against the Gallus member.
Coffey will be a part of PROGRESS Chapter 196: Scorchio in July 2026, despite several allegations made during the Speaking Out movement in 2020.
On social media, Damo responded to criticism, saying that some conversations shared in the allegations against Coffey were doctored and misleading.
Damo pointed out that Coffey was never fired from WWE, pointing to this as further proof that the claims against Coffey were not genuine.
Coffey was accused of harassing a woman, sending unsolicited naked photos, sending voice messages, and unsolicited stalking.
WWE suspended Coffey in June 2020 following the allegations made against him but he would later make his return as part of WWE NXT UK programming.
