Bikebiz are pleased to announce The Bikeability Trust as our Charity partner for the 2026 BikeBiz Awards.
For over 15 years, the BikeBiz Awards have been recognising excellence and innovation across the UK cycling industry, celebrating everyone from specialist distributors, IBDs and outstanding individuals.
In 2026, the awards will return to the Button Factory on 15 October. The partnership with The Bikeability Trust underscores both the charity and BikeBiz’s commitment to promoting and supporting the growth and accessibility of cycling across the UK.

The Bikeability Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with the vision to ensure everyone has the confidence to cycle and enjoy this skill for life. The Trust manages, develops and promotes the Bikeability programme on behalf of the Department for Transport.
Bikeability is the Department for Transport’s flagship national cycle training programme for schoolchildren in England, and is a key component of Gear Change. Bikeability cycle training is a practical training programme, which provides schoolchildren with a life skill and enables them to cycle confidently and competently on today’s roads.
More than 5 million children have received Bikeability cycle training since the programme’s inception in 2007.
The Trust aims to make Bikeability the leading programme for cycle training by:
- Child-focused: Delivering cycle training to both children and adults, but the majority of the delivery is helping children learn the life skill of cycling.
- Inclusivity: Taking action to reduce barriers to participation and ensure that anyone who wishes to access Bikeability cycle training can.
- Efficiency: Delivering a programme that offers value for money and is delivered in an economic and efficient way
- Influence: Sharing evidence of the impact of cycle training across a variety of sectors (transport, education, environment, health, leisure, etc).
- Collaboration: Working with stakeholders, partners and commercial organisations to achieve our vision and ensure Bikeability is a household name.
“The Bikeability Trust is proud to sponsor the BikeBiz Awards 2026, which celebrate the innovation, passion and progress that drive our industry forward. We’re committed to building a lifelong love of cycling and it’s inspiring to recognise the organisations and individuals helping make cycling more accessible, enjoyable and inclusive for all.”

Lauren Jenkins, editor of BikeBiz, added:
“We are so grateful for the continued support from the Bikeability Trust. It’s because of these partnerships that we’re able to continue to celebrate the wider industry. Our Awards are a chance to come together, network and support each other. It’s the perfect chance to bring different sectors of the industry together.
“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the work of our partners. Bikeability fosters a long-term love of cycling and gives children the confidence to ride a bike. They are the future of our sport. And that’s just one reason why Bikeability is so important.”
