Bills’ DJ Moore acknowledges ‘growing pains’ in transition to new team

With Keon Coleman failing to live up to the hype, the Buffalo Bills realized that they needed to get Josh Allen some help.

They sent a second-round pick to the Chicago Bears to land DJ Moore, a talented wide receiver and former first-rounder.

On paper, Moore will be the Bills’ best pass catcher since Stefon Diggs left a couple of years ago.

However, it might take a while before he’s on the same page with his new quarterback. Speaking to the Bills’ official YouTube Channel, the former Carolina Panthers draft pick admitted he’s not quite there yet.

DJ Moore opens up on ‘growing pains’ of playing with Josh Allen

“It’s going good,” Moore said. “I mean, it’s going to be perfect later on, but [there are] still growing pains. Just being yourself, and then coming in, putting the work in and studying the playbook. Right now, that’s what I’m doing, and again, I know the guys. Everybody’s been lovely. They’re friendly. Like, everybody gets along. It’s amazing to see.”

Even so, it should be just a matter of time before they see eye to eye. Great players always figure out ways to coexist on the gridiron, and they shouldn’t be the exception to that rule.

Moreover, Moore is well-versed in Joe Brady’s system. The Bills’ new head coach used to be his offensive coordinator with the Panthers, so he should also know how to bring out the best in his new weapon.

The Bills made a bold move when they let Sean McDermott go this offseason, and they will be in the spotlight from Week 1 in 2026.

As for Moore, he will also be hard-pressed to deliver, given that he’s making an average of $27.5 million a year and his production hasn’t always matched his pay check.
