Ghana’s Black Starlets made a mess of their two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Algeria at the Mohammed VI Football Academy.
Gavi Yao scored the opening goal of the game inside five minutes after the Algerian goalkeeper brought the ball back in play, only for the Ghanaian to score the first goal of the game.
Ebony FC player Eric Gyamfi, named man-of-the-match, chipped the Algerian goalkeeper from almost 30 yards for the second goal of the game.
The West African side ended the first half with a two-goal cushion.
Twelve minutes after recess, Adam Benali reduced the deficit in the 57th minute.
Three minutes later, Zaidi levelled things for the North Africans.
Both teams failed to get the much-needed win despite the Algerians being handed a penalty.
The Black Starlets will play Senegal in their next match.
