The Dunedin Blue Jays are becoming a must watch team.
🚨Blue Jays No. 7 prospect Juan Sanchez has been promoted to Class-A Dunedin🚨
What’s unusual is Sanchez skipping the Florida Complex League entirely. Since Major League Baseball went to the current minor league format of four “A” affiliates and two rookie leagues in 2021, I can’t think of a time a Blue Jay prospect went from the DSL to Single-A.
Also with the D-Jays is Blaine Bullard, who was drafted last year in the 12th round and signed to the largest bonus ever given to a player drafted in that round. Through nine games with the D-Jays, the switch-hitting outfielder has shown a power stroke, hitting three home runs in 41 plate appearances. However, he’s slashing just .212/.300/.576 while also striking out 29.3% of the time.
Back in the mid 2010s, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, and Cavan Biggio came up the minor leagues together. Hopefully, the trio of Sanchez, Parker, and Bullard could do the same. And who could forget Arjun Nimmala, who is off to a solid start with the High-A Vancouver Canadians?
