Bournemouth right-back Alex Jimenez won’t be included in the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Fulham with the club investigating online allegations made against the Spaniard.
At this stage, there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Jimenez with the club attempting to determine whether the online claims are genuine, but they have opted to leave him out of the game at Craven Cottage while that investigation takes place.
A club statement read: “AFC Bournemouth are aware of posts circulating on social media involving right-back, Álex Jiménez.
“The club understand the seriousness of the matter and it is currently being investigated.
“As a result, Alex will not be included in the squad for tomorrow’s Premier League game against Fulham and the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Jimenez made move to Bournemouth permanent in February
Jimenez joined Bournemouth from AC Milan on loan last summer and the move was made permanent in February for £17million. He signed a contract that runs until 2031.
The 21-year-old, who came through the ranks at Real Madrid before moving to Italy in 2024, has made 32 appearances for the Cherries this season.
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola told BBC Radio Solent: “The club has to do their investigations and see what has really happened. We will then move from there.
“I hope it’s not what we think.”
