It’s been over a year since WWE released Braun Strowman. However, The Monster Among Men continues to impact the sports entertainment giant. Earlier this year, USA Network announced that they are renewing Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman. Season 1 was an astounding success for the cable network, even though the show aired after the former Wyatt Family member was let go from WWE. Now, Braun Strowman causes USA Network to remove an hour of SmackDown starting this summer.
Braun Strowman Causes WWE to Cancel Third Hour of SmackDown
For almost 15 years, WWE shows on USA Network have become three-hour ordeals. While some fans find these three-hour telecasts tiresome, USA loves the ad revenue that WWE content generates. So, after Raw ended its run on USA Network, SmackDown has jockeyed back and forth between two and three-hour shows.
Come this summer, WWE SmackDown will revert back to its two-hour time block. The long-running weekly episodic show will become the lead-in for Braun Strowman’s traveling food show.
This exact formula was used last season and proved to be a success for the reality show. So, USA Network is running it back, although Braun Strowman is no longer affiliated with WWE. However, it seems like WWE is licensing the name out in order to support their partners in the USA.
When Does Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman Return?
SmackDown fans (and Superstars) shouldn’t worry about losing an hour of wrestling yet. It will be a couple of months before Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman returns on the USA Network.
There isn’t an exact date set for the season 2 premiere. However, internal records indicate that the show will begin airing in June or July. Season 2 of Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman will air directly after SmackDown. First-run episodes of the popular show will air for 12 weeks.
It’s believed that SmackDown will remain three hours up until the reality show premiere. While it’s not been confirmed, WWE believes SmackDown will return to a three-hour format toward the end of the year.
