Braun Strowman didn’t hold back when talking about the loss of his Wyatt Family brothers during an interview with Rewind Recap Relive, making it clear that losing Bray Wyatt and Brody Lee is something he still struggles to deal with today.
While reflecting on his time with The Wyatt Family, Strowman explained that the group wasn’t just a faction on television. He described how the constant travel, long nights, and shared experiences built a real bond between them that felt like family.
“We bled, we slept, we ate — we didn’t sleep together, but you know — slept next to each other and all that stuff. And just becoming the friendship that it has…”
That tight connection is what made their deaths hit so hard. As he spoke about losing Bray Wyatt and Brody Lee, Strowman made it clear that the reality of their absence is something he still carries with him every day.
“And it’s so — it f**ing sucks realizing that two of us are gone already and things like that. And it’s one of those pills that I have to constantly swallow a lot and it sucks.”*
Strowman also explained that he keeps their memory close, including through a tattoo that reminds him of their friendship and the impact they had on his life. He said there are moments when he has to stop and remind himself how lucky he was to share those experiences with them.
“But, you know, it is what it is, and that’s like I said why I have that tattoo where it is on my body, because there’s moments when I, you know, have to realize like how blessed I am — the angels that I have looking over me at the same time as hard as it is to realize that they’re gone.”
The Wyatt Family changed the direction of Strowman’s career and helped turn him into one of WWE’s most recognizable big men. But beyond the success in the ring, it’s clear that losing Bray Wyatt and Brody Lee left a personal mark that hasn’t faded with time.
Even years later, the emotions are still fresh, and Strowman’s words show just how deep that loss still runs for him.
