Brooksby Slump Continues – Tennis-Prose.com

Jenson Brooksby is in a major slump. After his return last year to the top 50 after a two year absence, the American is plummeting. He is a lousy 4-11 on the year and lost again today at Bordeaux Challenger in the first round 26 57 to Alex Molcan, ranked 113.

That is four first round exits in a row for Brooksby. His last ATP World Tour match win was first round at Indian Wells 63 64 vs Popyrin – he lost next round to Tiafoe 46 26.

Back in January-February, Brooksby also lost first round at three tournaments in a row – AP, Dallas, Doha. The Dallas loss was a heartbreaking 67 in the third to Tommy Paul.

The 25 year old American is ranked 63 now. His best ranking was 33 in 2022.

Suddenly Brooksby has gone from up and coming American force… to journeyman.

Still plenty of time to remedy the problem and reverse the nosediving trending direction for Brooksby, who has a career match record of 70-57 with $3.6m in career prize money.
