Following the season, Clark has been preparing for the 2026 NFL Draft. He is currently projected to be a mid-round pick.

Bud Clark Strengths

Clark has phenomenal ball skills for an NFL safety. He had 15 interceptions and 21 passes defended over his last four years of college. Clark sees the field clearly and makes breaks on the ball well. He tracks the ball well through the air and attacks the catchpoint aggressively. He is able to come down the ball if given the opportunity and if not he can deflect the pass.

He showed good run defense throughout his college career. Clark is able to diagnose run plays relatively quickly and gets downhill in a hurry. He can slip blocks and avoid traffic pretty well. Clark shows good pursuit of the football with good play speed. He is able to tackle decently well, especially for a player of his size, to complete plays.

His versatility could have him fit into a bunch of different roles. Clark played deep safety, in the box and in the nickel spot. He has success at all spots. He can play a bit of man to man and also has zone potential at all levels of the field. Clark can do a bit of everything for an NFL team.

Bud Clark Weaknesses

Clark is an older prospect who started his college career in 2020. He had plenty of experience, but also had several injuries at the college level. As an older prospect, Clark will have to develop quickly, as teams won’t be willing to wait for him to provide good play.

He needs to fill out his frame a bit more for the NFL level to, as he is a bit undersized. Clark weighed in at just 188 pounds, which is small, especially for a player that can play in the box. Adding strength will help him with bigger receivers, but should also help his durability.

His aggressive play style gives him a chance to make plays, but it can also hurt him. He can get out of position while gambling to make plays against the pass or run. Clark can fall for misdirection and play action as well.

Projected Draft Range: Third Round Pick-Fifth Round Pick

Draft Grade: Fourth Round Pick
