Burglar strikes during Beryl – nationnews.com

Vendor Camille “Sherma” Holder was left counting her losses after her stall at the Fairchild Street Market was burglarised while Barbados was under a lockdown due to the passage of Hurricane Beryl.

Following the all-clear yesterday afternoon, Holder said she turned up at the Bridgetown stall to find several items stolen. She believes the culprit used a tool to dig out the wall in order to gain access.

“This is the second time they have broken into the shop. They break out the burglar bar that I had in the side window because that is a blind spot that nobody can see through there. The whole siding in the shop dig out to get the burglar bar out and they walk out with the shop speaker, they walk with all of the hard liquor and two drills belonging to my husband,” she cried.

What has her even more upset was that her husband spent Sunday afternoon securing the shop for the incoming bad weather.
