Caitlin Clark's Pass to Kelsey Mitchell Leaves Indiana Fever in Disbelief

The Indiana Fever secured their first win of the season on Wednesday, taking down the Los Angeles Sparks 87-78. Once again, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark led the team in scoring, as L.A. struggled to contain them.

Mitchell finished with 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting. Clark, for her part, recorded 24 points, four rebounds, nine assists, two steals and one block.

The two also had several highlight plays in the game. Mitchell scored 17 points in the first half, with the Sparks unable to stop her 3-point shooting and relentless attacks to the basket.

Clark, on the other hand, made several plays for her teammates. In the second quarter, she even assisted Sophie Cunningham in back-to-back plays for five straight points.

One of the best highlights of the game, however, was Clark’s assist to Mitchell in the first quarter. As she was running toward their side of the court, Clark found Mitchell cutting to the basket. The Fever playmaker quickly dished the ball to her teammate, through three defenders, for the layup.

The Fever were so impressed by the assist that they could only write “sheesh” while sharing a video of the play. The team also posted another angle of the dime, hailing it as the “Assist of the Game.”

Clark has certainly shown why she is one of the best playmakers in the game. The recent WNBA survey ranked her second only to Chelsea Gray as the best passer in the game, although she got just 7% of the votes compared to Gray’s 93%.

As Clark continues to make incredible plays with the Fever, though, she’s certainly making a strong case for the “Best Passer” title.
