Casper Ruud started his Madrid Open title defense in sensational style by defeating Jaume Munar in the second round.
Ruud dropped just one game as he beat the Spaniard 6-0 6-1 in just over an hour to set up a match with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in round three.
The Norwegian was forced to withdraw from the Barcelona Open after suffering an injury at the Monte-Carlo Masters, but he was back to his clay court best against Munar.
The star is well-regarded as one of the best clay court players on the ATP Tour and he has an impressive figure to back that up.

Casper Ruud’s incredible clay court statistics
Ruud’s victory against Munar was his 133rd since the start of the 2020 season, which is better than anyone else on the ATP Tour.
The Norwegian has now won 25 more matches on the surface than Carlos Alcaraz, who occupies the second position.
