TNA Slammiversary 2026 went down at the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, where the TNA X-Division Championship was defended in the always unpredictable Ultimate X Match. Cedric Alexander put the title on the line against former champion Leon Slater and four other competitors, with the championship hanging high above the ring, and nobody knew what to expect.
Cedric Alexander arrived at Slammiversary in his first reign after defeating Slater in a Two-out-of-Three Falls Match on the May 14 episode of TNA Impact. That win ended Slater’s impressive 298-day title reign. Thanks to his contractual rematch, Slater got another shot at the championship on one of TNA’s biggest stages. However, he isn’t alone in the match.
Massive names like A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Chris Sabin have held the X-Division Championship since the title was introduced in 2002. Everyone in this match was well aware of its history, and they all wanted a chance to walk in those legendary footsteps before them.
When the time came, Amazing Red made his way out first. This was a big surprise as the night opened up with the Ultimate X match. Frankie Kazarian, Fabian Aichner, Mr Elegance, JC Navarro, and Leon Slater soon made their way to the ring to challenge Cedric Alexander, so the match could get underway.
This was the 55th Ultimate X match in TNA history. Amazing Red competed in his first Ultimate X match in 15 years, and the same went for Kazarian, who also wore green and white as he did during the first Ultimate X match. Needless to say, there was a lot of history at stake.
The match was full of high-octane action, and tons of high spots were packed into the booking. Everyone had a chance to fight for the X that hung above the ring, suspended by two intersecting wires.
Amazing Red almost got the win to claim his 5th X-Division Title. However, he was stopped the hard way by Cedric Alexander. Six challengers battled the champion in this match as the winner would go to the first man to pull down the belt.
In the end, Leon Slater and Amazing Red got the title at the same time, but then Cedric Alexander snagged the title from them to claim the win and retain the title.
